The Archive Project: Podcast Teaser

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival is teaming up with the Literary Arts Archive Project to deliver in-depth conversations about the creation of live and digital theatre for modern audiences.

The Archive Project features the most sought-after recordings from the Portland Arts & Lectures series, Portland Book Festival, and other community events. Episodes air every Sunday at 7:00 p.m. (Pacific) on OPB radio or wherever listeners download their podcasts.

Listen to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival explore the process of The Cymbeline Project, an innovative take on the classic work. This episode features a conversation between OSF Artistic Director Nataki Garrett and Scarlett Kim, OSF’s Associate Artistic Director of Innovation & Strategy. They discuss The Cymbeline Project, an upcoming OSF hybrid production: part theatre, part film, part visual art. As Nataki and Scarlett point out in their conversation, Shakespeare is built to be open to interpretation—to “do” Shakespeare is to experiment; to be true to the text is to break it apart.

On February 13th The Archive Project will air a discussion between MacArthur Genius Fellow Dominque Morisseau and Artistic Director Nataki Garrett as they delve into Morisseau’s new play Confederates, which will be making its West Coast Premiere at OSF in August of 2022.
