WOMB is creation space, an incubator, if you will, for queer independent artists of color and those who love them to build community, share, support, and create. In 2021 OSF asked WOMB to curate a PRIDE Special. From a variety of musical performances, a lil dancing, a smattering of history, and a rump-shaking afterparty, this PRIDE Special was just that—SPECIAL! A little birdie mentioned that you may see some familiar faces, as introduced in WOMB’s inaugural 2020 Spotlight Showcase in June 2020.
When asked "Why "WOMB," creator/curator Jaz Hall says "I hope to pose a reclamation of the art of creation and the fact that every person, however they identify or whatever their social location, has their own capacity for creation through the medium of their choosing and that it is beautiful. And that an anatomical womb does not define an individual or the act of creation, but that we should feel, in my artistic space at least, enveloped by support and the ability to expand as one needs. It's support that I've yearned for in my life and so hope to offer to others."
Content Guidance: WOMB celebrates the unedited expression of queer artists of color, partnering with the platform of O! to uplift them. This may include some visuals, language, and/or themes. Please make choices for yourself and young ones in your care accordingly.
