The Comedy of Errors (2014)

Streaming Event

Length: Approximately 1 hour, 35 minutes, with no intermission.

Antipholus and Dromio journey north to the big city in search of their lost family—and straight into the heart of the Harlem Renaissance. And surprise! Suddenly there are two identical Antipholi and two identical Dromios, which has everybody in town (including significant others) seeing double. Shakespeare’s romp gets a jazz-age update in director Kent Gash’s brisk, beautiful 2014 production, featuring songs of Cab Calloway and Duke Ellington.

Suitability Suggestions
This 2014 production is set against the backdrop of the Harlem Renaissance. The hijinks will move to a jazz beat, Duke Ellington–style. Although there is a plot twist involving the town courtesan with the potential for some bawdy comedy, this delightful and silly romp is suitable for middle and high school students.
