Come From Away tells the story of a community that opened its arms to thousands of strangers when their lives were interrupted by the 9/11 attacks.
In the spirit of this powerful musical, we invite you to share an experience from your life, big or small, when community showed up for you, or you showed up for others during a time of need. All styles of writing are welcome: poetic, narrative, dramatic, or anything in between. Submissions* will be evaluated for the potential to be shared aloud on September 11, 2026 from 3:30pm to 4:30pm at an open-to-the-public event on the Bricks commemorating the 25th anniversary of 9/11. If your story is selected, you will be contacted by our staff. Stories will also be archived on the OSF website where they can inspire long after the show has closed. Note: posted stories can remain anonymous if preferred.
