Author, Emma
In two seasons at OSF: Pride and Prejudice; Sense and Sensibility.
Despite a small oeuvre consisting of just six novels, Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, Mansfield Park, Emma, Persuasion, and Northanger Abbey, Jane Austen is considered one of the great writers in the English canon. Although she spent much of her life in country villages, she also lived in Bath and Southampton. She read plays, poetry, sermons, history, travel chronicles, and political texts, and started writing at an early age, always with an eye toward publication. Her novels have been transformed into stage plays, television, and film.
