Composer, Animal Crackers

Collaborations with Bert Kalmar: The two formed a successful songwriting team from 1920 through Kalmar's death and created such well-known hits as "Who's Sorry Now?," "I Love You So Much," "Nevertheless," "I'm Against It," "I Always Get My Man," "Three Little Words," "A Kiss to Build a Dream On"; Broadway musical work included Ziegfeld Follies of 1920, Helen of Troy, New York, Ziegfeld Follies of 1923, No Other Girl, The Ramblers, Lucky, The Five O'Clock Girl, She's My Baby, Top Speed, High Kickers, and Good Boy.

Films: Animal Crackers, Horse Feathers, Duck Soup, Bright Lights, Walking on Air, Three Little Words (a 1950 film that portrays the Ruby-Kalmar partnership with Fred Astaire as Kalmar and Red Skelton as Ruby).

TV: Best friend of Groucho Marx, Ruby appeared several times on Marx's television program You Bet Your Life.
