Off-Broadway: Theatre de la Jeune Lune (Hamlet), New Victory Theater. Regional: over sixty productions at the Tony Award–winning Theatre de la Jeune Lune between 1980 and 2008, including Carmen, The Miser, Tartuffe (American Repertory Theatre), Hamlet, Cosi Fan Tutti, The Magic Flute, Tartuffe, Medea, Circus of Tales, and The Three Musketeers. Currently, she designs costumes for The Moving Company (MOCO), collaborating with them on productions at Playmakers Repertory Company (The Imaginary Invalid), Actors Theatre of Louisville (Love’s Labor’s Lost, Fissures, Sirens), South Coast Repertory (Tartuffe), and Berkeley Repertory Theatre (Haroun and the Sea of Stories, Green Bird, Tartuffe), Productions elsewhere have included Skylight Music Theatre & Milwaukee Opera Theatre (Tales of Hoffmann), La Jolla Playhouse (The Deception); The Wilma Theatre (Dionysus Was a Very Nice Man), and The Guthrie Theatre (Triumph of Love). In 2023, she had a solo exhibition in Tokyo, Japan, called Red, The Artwork and Costume Designs of Sonya Berlovitz.
