Chrisi Karvonides-Dushenko has more than 25 years of experience as a costume designer for theatre, film and television. Honors include an Emmy for NBC’s American Dreams (2003), Emmy nominations for FX’s American Horror Story, HBO’s Carnivàle, From the Earth to the Moon, produced by Tom Hanks, and four Costume Designers’ Guild Awards during five seasons of HBO’s Big Love.

Other credits: Alan Ball’s Here and Now (HBO), starring Tim Robbins and Holly Hunter, and Blunt Talk (Starz) starring Patrick Stewart.

Karvonides-Dushenko’s work has been seen at the Old Globe Theatre, Geffen Playhouse, South Coast Repertory, Seattle Repertory Theatre, Guthrie Theater, the Kennedy Center and Broadway. Opera designs include Alcina (Karlsruhe, Germany), Proving Up (Opera Omaha) and The Human Voice (Opera Philadelphia). Karvonides-Dushenko is the head of Costume Design at UCLA’s Theater, Film, and Television BA and MFA programs and has given guest lectures on the art of costume design in Cardiff, Wales; New York City and Lecce, Italy. Karvonides-Dushenko received her MFA in Theatre Design from Yale School of Drama and her BFA from Emerson College.
