Universes is an ensemble of multi-disciplined writers, and performers who poetry, theater , jazz, hip hop, politics, down home blues and Spanish boleros to create moving, challenging and theatrical works. The group breaks the bounds of traditional theater to create their own brand of performance, inviting old and new generations of theater-makers as well as theater goers and newcomers to reshape the face of American theater.

Universes on Community: Our community is whoever is willing to allow themselves to go on a true theater experience. The company has traveled all over the United States as well as North Africa with Jazz at Lincoln Center. From community centers, performance spaces, prisons and regional theaters, Universes has had audience of various degrees.
