Mr Shineyhead

Mr Shineyhead

Performing in the 2013 Green Show Saturday, July 13 and Sunday, July 14.

This is his first season in the OSF Green Show.

Beautiful innovative storytelling of stories of both lighthearted and of a darker nature.

Patrick Fischer, also known as Mr Shineyhead, is fast becoming a sought-after performer all around the country. His creative use of classifiers, gesture and engaging storytelling abilities delight audiences of all ages and diverse backgrounds. In addition to touring with the National Theatre of the Deaf (NTD) and performing with Northwest Theatre of the Deaf (NWTD), Patrick has performed solo across the nation, as well as joining such notable Deaf performers as Peter Cook and Crom Saunders on stage. Patrick Fischer is from several generations of fine artists and actors from Europe, and has seen many theatre productions which gave him an extensive interest in all things relating to theatre and art. These interests led Patrick to be involved in a variety of artistic positions (artist, board member, actor, director, producer, instructor, presenter, and consultant) as well as participation in a variety of performances (storytelling, poetry, emcee, skits, and comedy) all around the nation and Canada. From Patrick's experiences and training in different aspects of theatre, he grew to enjoy sharing and passing on his exposure and knowledge. Patrick launched his theatrical business in 2005, providing various services to those who want to learn more about theatre through the deaf's eyes. When Patrick is not "working" in theatre, he teaches American Sign Language (ASL), Deaf Studies, and ASL Linguistics, and currently is a certified ASLTA (Professional) instructor at Portland Community College under the Sign Language Studies Program and Sign Language Interpretation Program in Portland, OR. Patrick is also a professional artist and owner of a freelance design business, "Infinity Design." Patrick's innovative storytelling ability is captured beautifully on his DVD which includes a number of stories both lighthearted and of a darker nature. Audiences from far and wide will be talking about this amazing performer!!

Mr Shineyhead on Community: My community is Deaf people, ASL and Deaf Studies students, interpreters, instructors, theater people, and artists - all ages, from elementary schools to high schools, colleges, conferences, organizations, businesses, and others. My home place is in Portland, Oregon but I travel a lot and teach many Deaf and hearing people everywhere in U.S. and Canada. Also, I perform all over the nation and Canada. Plus they have seen my DVDs in the world. I would like to share my performances to other communities who want to learn more about theatre through the deaf's eyes.
