Hot jazz and blues from the 1920s, 30s and beyond!
Formed in the fall of 2009, the Bathtub Gin Serenaders serve up smoking hot jazz and blues from the 1920s, 30s and beyond. The band features Ila Selene on lead vocals, Melissa Orr on violin and vocals, Stephany Smith Pearson on accordion, mandolin and vocals, Eric Von Radics on guitar and vocals, Lawrence Newcomb on clarinet and saxophone, Chari Weatherford on washboard, David Orr on ukelele bass and Chris Matthews on drums. Lawrence, Melissa and Eric trade the hot licks while Ila, Stephany, Melissa and Eric weave together close harmonies, all resting on a solid foundation of swinging rhythm. This potent interplay of vocal harmony, instrumental mastery and rhythmic swing sets the band apart from their peers. The Bathtub Gin Serenaders play good-time dance music that makes people move.
The Bathtub Gin Serenaders on Community: The Bathtub Gin Serenaders are based in Southern Oregon's Rogue Valley and have deep roots in the community. We play fundraisers, festivals, weddings and other intimate celebrations. We also have strong connections to the dance community and can include dancers in our performances.
