Sid DeBoer grew up in Ashland, Oregon and was educated at Stanford University and the University of Oregon. Since 1968, he has been associated with Lithia Motors, Inc. Lithia Motors is a New York Stock Exchange Company, having become public in 1996, and is one of America’s largest auto retail groups. He is presently Chairman and CEO. Under Sid’s guidance, Lithia Motors, Inc. has received numerous awards, including the Honda District Award, Sports Illustrated All-Star Dealer Award, Chrysler Corporation 5-Star Dealer Awards, Toyota Touch President’s Awards, Time Magazine Quality Dealer Award and Medford Chamber of Commerce Awards. He was awarded the President’s Medal for Community Service by Southern Oregon University in 1999. Sid is very active in community service organizations and projects, supporting the Arts Council of Southern Oregon, Ashland Community Hospital, Community Works, Medford Chamber of Commerce, Medford and Ashland Family YMCA programs, Oregon Community Foundation, Providence Hospital, Rogue Valley Medical Center, Rogue Valley Opera, Rogue Valley Youth for Christ, St. Mary’s High School, Schneider Museum of Art, Southern Oregon Historical Society, Southern Oregon Regional Economic Development, Inc., Southern Oregon University, United Way of Jackson County, and the University of Oregon Business Sponsor and Duck Athletic Fund. He has been a board member of Southern Oregon University Foundation serving as President and Campaign Co-Chair for a major building project. He has also served on the Rogue Valley Medical Foundation board. He previously served twice on the Oregon Shakespeare Festival board, serving as Campaign Co-Chair on a successful $22M fund raising campaign. Sid resides with his wife, Karen, in Ashland, Oregon. They have 5 grown children and 10 grandchildren.
