Gail Lopes, La Quinta, CA, is a retired lawyer with specialties in corporate, employment, and nonprofit law. She earned an undergraduate degree in English from UCLA and a J.D. from Harvard Law School. Gail parlayed her legal training into different careers focused on the legal community. After ten years at the law firm of Morrison & Forester, she left to found a consulting firm specializing in strategic planning and business development for law firms. Next, she joined an early-stage software company as Vice President of Product Development, where she oversaw the development of expert systems and document assembly software for legal and HR professionals; and later she became VP at an internet-based company serving the legal community. Gail has served on several nonprofit boards where she has held leadership positions, including the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN) in New York and Students Rising Above in the Bay Area. Gail and her husband Jim have been members of OSF for over 20 years.
