Pyrate Technics

Pyrate Technics

Performing in the 2015 Green Show on Sunday, October 11

This is their second season in the OSF Green Show.

Mesmerizing pirates, rogues, and gypsies dance and enchant with FIRE!

Pyrate Technics is a fire-performing troupe based in Weed, CA. Current members are Joshua Case, Robyn Vandiver, Erinn Bellwood, Cera Collins, Angelica (Jelly) Case, Matthew James, and Johnny Case. We also have Ron Collins, Roselle Robak,  and Aaron Hagedon as Fire Safety Technicians. Our Dancers have trained with many esteemed teachers including Suhaila Salimpour, Emily Alrick, Amy Sigil, Mira Betz, and Denise Mannion and collectively represent a wide breadth and deep dedication to the art of bellydance. Members of the troupe also specialize in historical re-enactment and costume design. Josh Case, Matthew James, and Johnny Case are three of our gentleman rogues who wield (and breathe) fire. Literally prodigies of the art, their fast and synchronized movements and acrobatic twirling are a highlight of the performance. Pyrates can be found performing at pirate and fantasy festivals, fire shows, local fairs and private events in Weed, Mt Shasta, Redding, Sacramento, San Francisco, and southern Oregon.

Pyrate Technics on Community:
Pyrate Technics hails from Weed California in the shadow of Mt Shasta. Weed is home to a growing arts scene, and the Pyrates have performed at community events such as the Weed Carnivale and A Hot Winter Night in support of the Weed Arts Council. The Pyrates offer a unique entertainment experience to Siskiyou County and have performed in Ashland, Weed, Mt Shasta, Redding and Sacramento. In the coming year the troupe plans to continue work with the Weed Arts Council and to add performances in Weed, and other communities in and around Sisikiyou county. The Pyrate Technics are known to donate shows to community foundations, and have performed at events in support of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Research Fund, Court Appointed Special Advocates, and Siskiyou Child Care Providers.
The troupe would love to explore performance opportunities in neighboring communities, and would like to connect with other fire artists and musicians.  Currently, all of our music is recorded, and live music would add another element of artistic creativity to Pyrate Technics’ performances.  Photographers, web/graphic designers, and t-shirt artists are also quite desirable contacts.
