play readings/black swan lab

The OSF literary office produces a number of play readings each season and is actively involved in developing new work. In 2010, a play reading will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 29 in the New Theatre. Details about the reading and other upcoming readings for the season will be posted here.

In July of 2009, OSF launched the Black Swan Lab for New Work, running from July 7 through October 31. The Lab will provide approximately 390 hours of development time in 2009 and offer a shifting menu of developmental activities, including actor-driven work, work that may include on-going development but no audience component, and work that is shared in-house. The Lab provides an opportunity to support commissioned projects as well as to serve as an incubator for new ideas. Key to its operation is integration with current programming and scheduling. More information about the Lab is available here.

Actors participating in the Black Swan Lab this season are Catherine E. Coulson, Tony DeBruno, Michael Elich, Brent Hinkley, Miriam Laube, Dee Maaske, Terri McMahon, Chinasa Ogbuagu, David Salsa, G. Valmont Thomas, and K.T. Vogt.
