OSF endowment fund
advancing the tradition, investing in the future
When asked to share his greatest dream, OSF founder Angus Bowmer responded that his dreams could not be so easily summed up because they were always open-ended.
In 1966, his open-ended dreams gave us the Oregon Shakespeare Festival Endowment Fund. It was a bold move at a time when the Festival only had one theatre and a seven-week season.
Today the Fund is among the largest in American non-profit theatre. In 2011, its total worth exceeds $26 million and it will return $1 million to support the 2011 season. The Festival's loyal and committed members are the primary source of gifts that support the Endowment Fund and help ensure the Festival's strong future.
