Momo has been rapping and performing music for the last eight years of his life. He has seven independently released albums with an eighth on the way, and his 9th album (and first tango related album is due for release Oct. 2010 under Berretin Records out of Portland OR.) I have been dancing Argentine Tango for four months everyday, up to 17 hours a day. Within the community of performers we have dancers with varying degrees of experience and expertise. Those on stage will have a minimum of two years experience dancing argentine tango and some have as many as 13 years under their belts. Of those who wish to showcase this improvisational social dance, most if not all are instructors on the local level at the very least.
Momo Smitt on Community: As the Ashland Tango Cooperative, our community is anyone within Ashland with the desire to explore the wonders of Argentine Tango. within' the constrains of a small community (Less than 100 dancers) we do our best to make classes and formal events frequent and affordable. We would like to connect to anyone with a desire to explore an art form that at is core is centered on being present. Dancing Argentine Tango can be a lifestyle choice. We within the community see the benefits of it, we want to make the incredible time we have dancing available to all of Ashland!
