Hello, Colleen the FAIR intern in Community Productions here! And no I will not get you coffee. (Just kidding, what would you like?)
All kidding aside this week is the week of the oldies but goodies in that all of these acts have returned for their second third or even fifth performance!
Kicking off the week is Dancing People Company!
Wednesday we’ve got the crazy comedy antics of Jill and Daryl!
Thursday multi-cultural music styling of Phoenix and the Four Directions
And for the weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) The Elizabethan Music and Dance Festival is here and will be featuring Morris and English country dancing!
Did you know the Green Show used to only feature English Country dancing and singing?
In 1940, the Mop Fair which was the Green Shows original name, was used to entice audiences to come early to the show by performing inside the bowl of the Elizabethan theater. Obviously over the years many things have changed including the type of acts, a built stage just for the show so the performers wouldn’t slide into the mud, as well as the name itself. But this week it feels as the though the Green show is paying homage to its roots by shaking it like Shakespeare would have! (So punny.)
