Veteran Green Show Music Directors
Plan Post-OSF Ventures

Carney and O'Scannell Making Music Locally and Internationally

Ashland, Ore. - Sue Carney and Patricia Maureen O'Scannell, longtime Green Show music directors, have launched plans to continue their respective musical careers as they segue into their post-OSF activities.

It was announced earlier this year by new artistic director Bill Rauch that the Green Show would unveil a new format beginning in summer 2008.

Both musicians recently toured with the Terra Nova Consort to Guanajuato, Mexico, where they appeared at the Cervantio Festival with their collaborators Los Tiempos Pasados.

Sue Carney, a veteran of 22 seasons at OSF, has created a new production company, Under the Wave Productions, to serve as a vessel for upcoming projects. She will be staying in Ashland for the near future, working on studio recordings of some of the works she composed for the Green Show, and collaborating with fellow artists on new music. She is directing and producing the recording of Alta California with members of the Terra Nova Consort.

This fall, she will release her debut jazz CD. She will also begin writing and producing custom-made songs, through Your Song, a new personal songwriting agency. Carney is also planning a west coast jazz/cabaret tour and collaborations on some musical theater projects. More details are available at her website.

After 25 years at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Patricia Maureen O'Scannell is now making her residence in the greater London area. O'Scannell will continue as co-artistic director of the Terra Nova Consort, and as such will return to the U.S. regularly to participate in their international touring program. O'Scannell will make her new professional life as a vocalist and multi-instrumentalist among the vibrant London Early Music scene, where she will have opportunity to work with some of the finest musicians in her field.

In addition, O'Scannell looks forward to pursuing interests in traditional music, such as the Spanish gaita, banjo and hurdy gurdy, as well as returning to her roots as a singer/songwriter. Other interests include travel, photography and books, and adding to her collection of rare and antique instruments.

The Terra Nova Consort has been invited to perform at some point during the 2008 Green Show season, so fans of Carney and O'Scannell should be able to see them on the bricks at OSF next summer. Check the OSF website for specific Green Show schedule details in the spring.
