Impro Theatre presents LA Noir UnScripted

L.A. Noir UnScripted

8 P.M., SUNDAY JULY 21, 2013, THOMAS THEATRE

Impro Theatre made their fourth appearance at the OSF Green Show in July 2013.

Impro Theatre is an improvisational repertory theatre company that creates completely improvised full-length plays in the styles of great playwrights and authors. Each Impro Theatre show is unique - brought into existence during performance - never before seen and never to be seen again. Heralded by the Los Angeles Times as "a stunning feat of performance and literary wizardry.” Impro Theatre is committed to developing the spontaneous nature of live theatre and pushing the boundaries of group improvisation. Recent runs include: Jane Austen UnScripted at the Broad Stage, Chekhov UnScripted at the Carrie Hamilton Theatre (Pasadena Playhouse) and Sondheim UnScripted at the Odyssey Theatre. This September they will open the season at Garry Marshall’s Falcon Theatre with Twilight Zone UnScripted. For more information about Impro Theatre, please visit their website

The dark and seedy underbelly of Los Angeles in the ‘40’s and ‘50’s is the setting for L.A. Noir UnScripted. Using such authors as Raymond Chandler and James M. Cain as inspiration, the ensemble embodies private dicks, femme fatales and a cadre of colorful characters. From the back alleys of Downtown to the manicured lawns of Beverly Hills, Green Show artists Impro Theatre delivers hard hitting, completely improvised tales of seduction and murder.

Running time: 90 minutes

Tickets may be purchased online or by calling the Box Office at 800-219-8161.

In its second year, OSF Presents is a pilot program designed to give Oregon Shakespeare Festival artists (who have worked with OSF in some capacity during the past two seasons) the arena to share their art with the public.  These shows, typically developed outside of the Festival, may feature OSF company members, guest artists, directors, designers, or Green Show artists presenting their one person shows or more adult material.  The bulk of the proceeds go to the Artist after OSF expenses.
