Jerry Taylor

Jerry Taylor Jerry Taylor attended the University of Nebraska where he received his B.S. and in 1970 he attended the University of Southern California receiving an MBA. In 1964 Jerry began working for Honeywell’s Residential Division as Staff Accountant and from 1967-1971 as Plant Controller, Gardena Operations. In 1971 he went to work for Honeywell’s European office as Factory Accounting Manager and in 1973 as European Controller. Transferring to Denver, Colorado in 1974, Jerry began work as the Division Controller for Honeywell’s Photographic Products operation. In 1976 he went to work for Fairchild Camera and Instrument Corporation in Mountain View, California and held several controller positions: International, Assistant Corporate, Vice President Corporate Controller. In 1979, Schlumberger acquired Fairchild and Jerry assumed the Chief Financial Officer position at Fairchild. In 1981, Jerry moved to Houston, Texas as Schlumberger Well Services’ Group Chief Financial Executive for the North American Operations. In 1984, Jerry joined Applied Materials, Inc. as their Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer until his partial retirement in 1998. In January of 1998 he went part-time at Applied as Senior Advisor to CEO and Executive Staff until his full retirement in January 2000. During his career with Applied Materials, Inc, he reported to the CEO and was responsible for the Global Financial Functions, Global Facilities, Legal Affairs and Intellectual Property of the company. Jerry has served on the Board of Directors for the Electro Scientific Industries and Lithia Motors. This would be Jerry’s second time to serve on the OSF board.
