An introduction to and exploration of selected plays in the 2010 season led by Dr. Alan Armstrong. Spend six days seeing seven plays, attending lectures by theatre scholars and participating in lively discussions with visits from company members. Class fee of $680 includes tickets to Throne of Blood, Henry IV, Part One, The Merchant of Venice, She Loves Me, Twelfth Night, Pride and Prejudice and Hamlet, plus two Festival Noon Lectures. Dr. Alan Armstrong is Professor Emeritus and former Director of the Center for Shakespeare Studies, Southern Oregon University. Currently, Dr. Armstrong is the OSF production dramaturg on Hamlet and Henry IV, Part One. In four seasons at OSF he was the dramaturg on Henry VIII, Coriolanus and King John, and the literary consultant on Wit. Dr. Armstrong received his PhD at Cornell University. He has also taught at Hamilton College, Kirkland College, Cornell University, Georgia Institute of Technology and the University of Southampton (England). He is a senior scholar for "Shakespeare's Playhouses: Inside and Out," an NEH Institute for college and university professors at the American Shakespeare Center and Shakespeare's Globe Theatre (London).
