Elisabeth Zinser, Ashland, Oregon, career of 42 years is mostly in higher education. She is immediate past president of Southern Oregon University. For six years each, she was Chancellor of the University of Kentucky-Lexington, President of the University of Idaho, Academic Vice Chancellor of the University of North Carolina-Greensboro, and Dean at the University of North Dakota. In four historic days, she was President of Gallaudet University while the deaf community achieved its civil rights movement. She has her bachelors from Stanford, MA and Ph.D. from UC-SF and Berkeley respectively, and MA from the MIT Sloan Management Program. Elisabeth serves on the Board of the Association of American Colleges and Universities as past chair and has been on boards of other national higher education associations. Her community service has always included the arts e.g. The Eastern Music Festival as vice president.
