Todd Barton

Resident Composer
Composer and Sound Designer, Pride and Prejudice, Throne of Blood

In 38 seasons at OSF: Responsible for composing original music and overseeing all musical activities; composed scores for more than 200 plays including the entire Shakespearean canon twice.

Other theatres: Sunsets & Glories (A Contemporary Theatre), St. Joan (Denver Center Theatre), The Tempest (The Shakespeare Theatre), The Sea (Berkeley Repertory Theatre), The Merchant of Venice (Milwaukee Repertory Theater), Copenhagen (Seattle Repertory Theatre), Oedipus Complex (The Goodman Theatre).

Other credits: concert works include performances by the Kronos Quartet, the Oregon Symphony Orchestra, the Cavani String Quartet, and the Rogue Valley Symphony; audio tape, Lao Tzu's Tao Te Ching, with author Ursula K. LeGuin; Director of Composition Studies at Southern Oregon University; member of the multimedia performance ensemble sonoluminescence.

Awards: received Special Award in Popular Music from ASCAP for his compositions for the Festival's 1993-2009 seasons.
